Canva offers an icon editor and design assets. Figma documents configurable static-image exports. Keep an editable source when you need precise composition or a broader brand system. Do not assume either tool lacks pixel-size controls.

AI generation and export

As checked on September 5, 2026, AppIcon.co advertises AI generation as well as a separate resizer. IconikAI advertises Xcode asset export. These are vendor descriptions, not results of a controlled generation or export test.

Browser utilities

Consider IconKitchen, MakeAppIcon and EasyAppIcon when evaluating a browser workflow. Their interactive output was not exercised in this review. Check the actual downloaded files, supported targets, account requirements and terms before committing to a tool.

Compare the total task

Ask whether you need new artwork, manual editing, resizing, an asset manifest or layered source files. A PNG is not inherently lower quality because a vector editor also exists. Vector source is useful for editing; the target’s runtime asset requirements are a separate question.

Understand free and paid limits

Check current limits, watermark behavior, renewal terms and permitted use in the relevant region. Avoid using an old global dollar amount as a comparison. A free tier is not automatically a free commercial license, and a paid tier is not proof of exclusivity.

IconBundlr export and purchase scope

IconBundlr’s native iOS export contains three 1024×1024 PNG appearance assets (light, dark and tinted) and Contents.json inside AppIcon.appiconset. Appearance processing is best-effort: if foreground extraction cannot produce a distinct variant, a slot can reuse the light artwork. Review each result in Xcode. This is an iOS asset catalog, not an Icon Composer .icon file or a complete Android, macOS, watchOS, tvOS or visionOS package.

IconBundlr is free to download, with limited free generation. Available in-app purchase options can include a renewing subscription, lifetime export access and individual-icon unlock credits. The app shows the current price, included access, renewal terms and any eligibility requirements in your storefront before purchase. A subscription is not a lifetime purchase, and an icon credit does not grant unlimited generation.
